Happy Deepavali!

A Festival of Lights – well more of noise & smoke and diets going for a toss!

A enjoyed his Deepavali. I tried to get him to say no to crackers & failed miserably – it was mixed emotions felt wonderful to see the joy on his face and horrible at not being able to convince the kid to be pollution free.
I felt sorry for my neighbour’s dog who was going ballistic.
For my part, I cooked yummy snacks. Our forefathers were good at planning. Make all this…while it rains outside, eat with tea/ coffee. Maybe they could have foreseen a bit more and went lax on the crackers?!
At least it is good to keep the mosquitoes & other insects away ( may be that was their thinking and we in our generation go overboard?! )

Also puts us into perspective that all things come with pluses & minuses. It is definitely a festival that brings all together!

Those who like fireworks , those who don’t. Those who love food, those who don’t. Those who watch all those special programmes on TV channels ( read new movies), those who don’t – well you get the picture 🙂

Do not miss this! :)

I wanted to go to this movie on 25th June when this was released here. Had told Aaarti who also wanted to go. Well, did not get tickets. We finally went today 🙂 Aaarti, lil A and I prompt at the theatre before the movie started so that we did not miss the Pixar short.

What can I say? I have not enjoyed a movie like I did this evening! All 3 of us were laughing, commenting. In fact was telling Aaarti wondering if I was too loud. Have not laughed out aloud like that in a long long time! The movie is super cute! For a fan of animated movies, especially the Pixar ones, I knew this would not disappoint me. It did not! It was amazing!! Starting from the short – Day & Night.

The short was also thought provoking. How we are afraid of something new, unknown, fear of the different and to how we must look at things, take that plunge – Trying that now along with trying to live life one day at a time 🙂

The actual movie if I start using adjectives it would all be superlative. What fun it was! Weird thing was the show…the theatre just stopped the movie and gave a break! Got so irritated about that break! Why in whatsoever’s name did we need a break in that movie!?!? Otherwise, this was such a treat for all 3 of us. Each doll has made an impact – apart from the old characters – the villainous Lots-o, big baby, chunk, chatter telephone, peas in a pod, dolly, bookworm, stretch…the list goes on. I am now sure that A would not let me donate/trash his toys! :). He has watched the first 2 parts of this movie and knows every character. He did bully me into getting him Buzz Lightyear in the last visit to the toy shop. He also has a long list of toys to be added (Wonder where I am going spoiling my son like this… or may be I am spoiling myself collecting all this in his name 😉 )

Watch this. Would give the highest rating (don’t care if I am biased to Pixar animations – this movie is worth it. It lives up to expectations & more) I did not talk too much about the story as I do not want this to be the spoiler type posts 🙂

I guess the smileys on this one shows that I still have a grin on my face thinking of the wonderful evening!

I like painting; not necessarily MS Paint. So I did the basic image on paint, used Adobe Photoshop elements to add embellishments 🙂  like texture or shading. I also have used red, green as primary colours in the pics. Well, Christmas is round the corner 😀

I like tags. I guess I learn more about myself when I do them. This one : I learnt that I am pretty much open to most things in life; but certain stuff – I do have some boundaries which I think are justifiable.

Am not a very religious person. Off late I have flashes of atheism too. Though I firmly believe in knowledge for knowledge’s sake. Besides I pretty much read anything printed!! (Stay totally away from self-help books – read a few though) So, what would I read from a non- familiar tradition? I should say that even Hinduism to a large extent is non-familiar. Though am game for any other work on whatever tradition 😀

Again I am open to any form of music and I don’t watch that many music videos. I am more of a listen to music kind of person. 🙂 “Least likey to listen to” genre is metal for me though.

I find this interesting. The letter assigned is kind of something that keeps popping into my mind in the words that I think of. Do I love them? Not really! 🙂 My last post also is a word that begins with “D” ….

Just listen to the “Piece Audio” for the letter D and how most words associated are well…not really good ones 🙂 So, here I list those words that come to my mind…not necessarily those I love. Sorry for deviating from the rules 😦 I will try listing only positive ones…

Date : Something I have not been on for a long time now. 🙂 Don’t intend to either 😉 but doesn’t every one think about the word “date” every day?

Divorce: For obvious reasons, this D word pops into my mind ever so often! apart from the word that is the title of my last post which I don’t intend to list here 🙂

Deuterium: This word does not come to my mind as often (please…don’t think I am that much of a nerd! ) but it did come when I was trying to think of words to list here. After all chemistry was the subject I majored in. Confession : there were many other geeky/nerdy words that did pop in my brain (absolutely not intentional I am sure! 🙂 )

Dream: Everybody does have a dream, isn’t it? I am yet to figure out mine; I suppose it is pretty positive a word to think of when dealing with “D” 🙂

Dinosaur: My son A came and asked me what I was doing. Told him I was thinking of words starting with “D”. He asked me to add this one 🙂 So, dinosaur is my fifth word!

Daughter: Talking about A, I must say that I always wanted a daughter. I so wished A was a girl when I was pregnant!! *sigh*…. Well, am lucky I have A in my life 🙂

Development : Another positive word that came up was “development”. I suppose it is positive, at least I think so. Don’t quite know what is there to be developed in my life now…but  hope there is something and it is positive 😉

Dimension: I like fractals at least looking at those images 😉 Hence this term did come up when I thought of “D” words… I am definitely figuring out the dimensions of the problems I am facing in life now 🙂

Desolate/Depression : I know! I said I will try!! These words haunt me all the time; so could not let these pass when listing words that begin with D!

December : We are in the month that begins with the letter “D” helping me complete this meme 🙂 Tis the holiday season for most people. Wishing everyone “Happy holidays”. Hope the next year brings all joy and cheer to each & everyone’s life 😀

Death…

I have written about how I have tried to take my life and have thought many a time to do so. I promised that I would not even think about it again (have kept it so far…)
Though, this post is not about that… It is one of those sites I landed upon on random surfing..Calculate your death date here. Seems like I am going to be here for quite a long haul. Poor everyone who knows me 😦 😉

Oh…btw, one of the links in this link calculated that I am quite an idiot (39% if I remember right 😉 high or is it way too low for what I am? 🙂 ) The page has quite a few fun links for…again time pass (Nikhil don’t turn green!! 😉 ) Now I know I will be a giraffe in my next birth (at least I will be tall unless the species goes through some mutation!!). Alright, I am officially bored 😀 I ended up finding this site on my random browsing – Oneplusyou. This is a dating site(the link though takes you to what I have posted about…so go ahead and click 😉 ), though I was not there for that 😀 I got there to get stuff for blogs. It is quite irritating actually that each time you take a quiz, a page pops up asking you if you want to sign up for the dating site. Though the site is cool for its quizzes.

I found out that my cussing on this blog is only 0.3% (I thought I did not cuss!! ) and that I am highly caffeinated (I had not even had any caffeine till I took the test…now I need a cuppa! ). I have always thought I had verbal diarrhoea (I was proved wrong when I took the verbosity quiz)…

Ok! I think I made my point…I tried quite a few quizzes. Go on ahead and try it out. Fun! 🙂 Wow! don’t remember when I had posted twice within such a short span in a day (and not depressing posts!) !!!

Funny! I never thought my blog would be remotely entertaining.
